  • Mary Ethelene Boyett VanDusen Christian, 79, of Longview, Texas passed away March 13, 2016.  Mary was born March 8, 1937 to Drew and Ethel Boyett.  She was wed to Gary Graham VanDusen until his death in 1987, then later married and old classmate and friend Pete Christian. Mary was a retired LPN who enjoyed being a nurse. She was also a Mary Kay consultant for 30 years who was passionate about her work; she loved teaching skin care and showing women how to apply makeup correctly. She was lovingly referred to as Miss Mary Kay.

     

    Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Drew and Ethel Boyett; her husbands, Gary Graham VanDusen and Pete Christian; sisters, Marian Boyett Spencer and Bennie Boyett Porter; and brother, Karrol Dean Boyett.

    Mary is survived by her son, Gary Hal VanDusen; daughter, Lisa Dawn VanDusen McDougal; Brothers, Franklin Drew Boyett and Charles David Boyett. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Wade McDougal & partner Anna Gray, Amber McDougal & fiancée Sam Bartolotta, Trey (Amber) McDougal, Jessica Melton, Graham (Camille) VanDusen and Hal VanDusen;  two great-grandchildren Carson Krum, Ian McDougal and two step-grandchildren Gaven Whittle and Ayron Kennedy and a loving caregiver Andrea Tripp.

     

    Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Rockport Cemetery in Malvern.

    Im so sorry for your loss but it's our loss not hers. She's now happy, healthy and whole in the loving care of our Heavenly Father.

    I am so sorry! I have known her since high school. Also she and i had a very close mutual friend, Jeanie Boyles! I know how you will miss her.

    I'm so sorry for your loss but wanted to tell you who I am. I am Reba Myers sister in law and she was married to Pete Christian before Mary. I also married Reba's brother Jerry. I know Mary was a great person and we went to Houston when she and Pete got married and then again when Pete died. I heard a lot about her even before she and Pete married and know she was very good to him and vice-versa. I've tried to see her and call her the last 2 or 3 times I've been inMalvern so now I know why I couldn't contact her. You two have my sympathies on your great loss. God's Blessings be with you
